1 | Is Salvation only through Jesus Christ? | Acts 4:12 | jlpangilinan | 37162
My Question still the same. are we going to judge people of Israel today? they dont believed in Jesus Christ, Can you tell me that people belongs to Israel will go to hell because they dont believe in Jesus Christ? You are very right indeed, when you quoted "God cannot lie" and He cannot lie to abraham too when they had covenant: Ge 17:7 ΒΆ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 7. Ge 17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. Ge 17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. Are we going to say that this promises of God to abraham is gone already. God mention here everlasting. The Jews indedd believed that there are no God forms after thier God. Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. They believed that there are no saviour before or after God the Father, so it very hard for them to accept that Jesus Christ is the saviour. But then they still believed in what God promises to abraham. My question again is in the present time, are going to condemn Israelites that they will go to hell because they dont believed in Jesus Christ? What happened to the everlasting covenant of God to abraham? God bless, JOhnny |

2 | Is Salvation only through Jesus Christ? | Acts 4:12 | Robert Nicholson | 37169
Brother Johnny: Paul in writing to the Romans "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first and also the the Greek. Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of God's promises to his people. Upon Calvary's cross he died for the sins of the whole world. The Jews were the first to hear the wonderful message of the Gospel of Christ through Peter in Acts 2:32 Acts 3: 12-26, Acts. 45-12. Peter made it clear that through faith in the atoning death and resurrection of Christ is the only ground upon which they can be accepted. Paul speaks regarding Jews and Gentiles "What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise; for we have proved both Jew and Gentiles, that they are all under sin. (Romans 3:9) After the cross the whole world is responsible to God in how they react to the strivings of the Spirit of God and the gospel of Christ. It does not matter what nation or creed they belong to. "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Rom. 3.23 God's promise to Abraham takes in all people. "I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee and I will curse them that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed" Abraham means "father of many nations" It is through the seed of Abraham that our Saviour came and provided salvation to all. Johnny: We know that due to unbelief God has set Israel aside nationally. By doing so he has turned to all nations with the Gospel. We also know that the day is coming when God will turn again to Israel nationally. Does this excuse individuals from being lost because of rejecting Christ. Many people as individual from the nation of Israel have been saved through Christ, starting with the apostles and the early church. Even today, Jewish people are accepting Christ as their saviour. If they make the choice to blind their minds to the claims of Christ by adhering to a religious system which ended at Calvary, then it is only God who can enlighten them to the truth which is found in Christ. 4 | Is Salvation only through Jesus Christ? | Acts 4:12 | Robert Nicholson | 37327
Greetings brother Johnny: I will try to answer your questions as seen from God's Word. Your question "1. If you can answers my question directly, if the Isralites will go to hell because they dont believed in Jesus Christ?" The short answer is "Yes" because it is only through faith in the work of Christ that man can be justified. Paul deals with this topic in when writing to the Galations. "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified"Gal. 2:16 Your question "2. What happened to the promises of God to abraham "everlasting" ? are those promises broken?" My first question would be: What were these promises? God's plan was not clear to Abraham and yet "Abraham believed God and it was imputed to him for righteousness" Gal 3:6 Paul makes it clear that those who "are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham." Gal.3:7 Johnny, Remember that God promised him that his seed would be a) as the stars of heaven b) the sand of the sea and c) the dust of the earth Abraham was told "in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed" His blessing is not only for those who are born Jews, but reaches out to all who come to Christ by faith. The covenant to Abraham was one of faith. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ. And if ye be Christ's, then are you Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. (Gal 3:28-29) The blessing promised to Abraham is through Christ. Christ is the fulfilment of that promise. God has not gone back on his promises or broken his promises to Abraham. The apparent failure to Israel is because of their unbelief. "Brethren, my hearts desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant (willingly) of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law and righteousness to every one that believeth" Romans 10:1-4 Dear brother, God has blessed his people abundantly, they were given the prophecies which spoke of the coming Christ to earth, he came to his own people first, his disciples were taken from his own people, he died upon the cross according to the prophecies written of him, he was buried, he arose again the third day and after his resurrection some of the old testament saints arose and appeared to many. It was from this backdrop that Peter preaches first to his own nation "Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved" Acts 4:12 The message is the same today, to all people of all nations, that there is only one way to enter into the promises of Abraham, and that is by faith in the work of Christ. If we refuse to accept this truth, then we will miss the blessing. Peace in his name Robert |
