1 | Can i hate chickens and love JC? mt23:37 | John 3:14 | srbaegon | 46451
Hello Giam Rev 12 is identifying that Satan was the serpent in the garden. Satan is the one who used the snake for his own purposes. Rev 12 is just agreeing with that. But let's go to the heart of the matter. God tells us what? Mark 12:30-31 (ESV) "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' [31] The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." and John 15:12 (ESV) "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." Love is to be directed toward God and people--that's required. Anything beyond this is dangerous because we put the object of our affection (whether pets or money) above God and/or people. Do not equate love toward people with love toward animals. It won't work. Steve |

2 | Is the Formula for sin to hate anything? | John 3:14 | Giam | 46453
Steve! Thanks for your reply! So: If i were to call u name of an animal, wd u get offended? I wd bet u wd! But because I lvoe myself as all the words there are, nothing can offend me becaue i can't be offended by what words i lvoe me as! Steve, we can only be offended by what words we already sinfully hate ourselves as! Wd u call yourself the names Christ called them? Wd u be offended by any name He called u? Steve, if i hated me as poor and loved me as rich, and loved on ekind of pet out of hate for all others, I wd have set my mind on being rich and on that one pet because i wd be a love-hate double-minded person as described here: James 1 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. It is only the person who loves himself as God loves him, which is as HImself, 1 John 4:18, john 15:9 that then has the Love-pure or pure-Love mind of Titus 1:15 and who is therefore like these persons: Psalm 119 165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and NOTHING shall offend them. And of course wd recall this: Proverbs 12 10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. and this: Numbers 22 22 And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an Adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his Ass, and his two servants were with him. 23 And the Ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the Ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the Ass, to turn her into the way. 24 But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side. 25 And when the Ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he smote her again. 26 And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. 27 And when the Ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the Ass with a staff. 28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the Ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times? 29 And Balaam said unto the Ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee. 30 And the Ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine Ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? and he said, Nay. 31 Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face. 32 And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine Ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me: 33 And the Ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless She had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive. 34 And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again. See what I mean? Love and Respect, Giam |

3 | Is the Formula for sin to hate anything? | John 3:14 | srbaegon | 46454
Hello Giam No, I really don't see what you mean. You said: "we can only be offended by what words we already sinfully hate ourselves as! Wd u call yourself the names Christ called them? Wd u be offended by any name He called u?" I don't know how to answer. You speak of words in a way which has no context for me. Can you elaborate? You speak of double-minded as hating one thing in opposition to loving another. Double-minded is trying to hold two opposite views of a single thing or idea or command. If you were to try to love and hate the same thing at the same time--that would be double-minded. Yes, we are to regard our animals. We use animals to work for us. Balaam is an example of one who did not treat his animal well. Steve |

4 | Is the Formula for sin to hate anything? | John 3:14 | Giam | 46474
Thanks Steve for your reply. U asked me to elaborate: Here is waht I believe: Based on Matthew 22:36-40 and 7:12, when God tells me to love him all the way, He must be also be already loving me all the way. i John 4:19 and John 15:9. And when God tells me to love my neybas as myself, he must be loving me as my neighbor and he must be loving my neigbor as me, by first loving himself as me and loving himself as my neighbor! See? I know u may have to think about that a bit. smile But once u have the premise of Love as in Matthew 22:36-40, the logic of Matthew 7:12 will show u all the rest! So it is clear to me that when God tells me to lvoe my neighbor as my self, I must, like Him, first love my self as my neyba in order to love my neyba as myself! So Steve, before we can love others, we have to lvoe ourselves. So if I hate u, who do I hate? Myself! When I hate u, u are NOT my problem! I am my own problem! To be specific, my attitude of hate for myself is my problem. I have a problem attitude and an attitude problem! And since our brains work by words, and all words have opposites, whatever I love u as or hate us as is always as the same word I love to hate me as! So: if I hate u as a fool, who do I hate? Myself. And who do i hate me as? As a fool! Try it out: it words for all words! That is why as kids we knew and said: it takes one to know one! As adults we say: before we can love others, we have to lvoe ourselves! So sure enuff, it was because I hated me as fool before i ever met u that when I ran into u and saw u as myself, that I hated u because i already also hated me a fool! See? So? Whatever words i hate me as are the words that i will hate all my neybas as! And, whatever words I hate me as wd be the words that i wd get offended when u call me by those names! So: Since God loves me as all words and their opposites, I am to lvoe me as God loves me: as all words and their oppisites. And since God loves me as all words and their opposites, to hate me as any word is the first sin, the first spiritual sin, the first sin in my thinking!! For to hate me as any words will be to hate God and my neighbor as myself as those very words! matthew 25:35-45, 1 John 4:20. In fact since Christ is the Word, to hate any word is to hate HIM as that word! See? That is why matthew 12:34-37: By your words u shall be justified and by your words u shall be condemned! So then it is very easy to see that if i hate myself as a dog or snake or u name it, when Christ calls me one or implies that i am one, I wd get offended! So Steve, if I told u waht words i hate, those wd be the very words I hate myself as, the very words i wd hate my neighbor as, and wd be the same words I wd hate God as! So to love my self as certain words and at the same time hate myself as the the opposites of those words is to have the double-minded attitude of Love and Hate to all things and persons! So waht u wrote here is perfect: "You speak of double-minded as hating one thing in opposition to loving another. Double-minded is trying to hold THE two opposite views of LOVE AND HATE FOR a single thing or idea or command. If you were to try to love and hate the same thing at the same time--that would be double-minded." Yes! So to apply Love and Hate to the same ONE set of things called words IS to be double-minded! God's righteousness is to apply Love ONLY to all words, and to apply hate ONLY to the sin of hating any word! Do u see? And now here is the perfect example of James 1:8: 2 Samuel 13 15 Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone. Your comments and questions wd be appreciated. L and R, giam |

5 | Is the Formula for sin to hate anything? | John 3:14 | srbaegon | 46560
Hello Giam Yes, God loves us all the way! But the following logic in your posting doesn't make sense to me. God is love (1 John 4:8), so He freely loves us. Matt 22:36-40 commands us to love God and love people because these are not natural to us. God must place His love in us to accomplish this. And I agree with the correlation of love to Matt 7:12. You wrote: "So Steve, before we can love others, we have to lvoe ourselves." I disagree. We naturally love ourselves too much. The whole idea of following Christ is to deny ourselves and lose our lives so that He might have His perfect way in us (Matt 16:24-26). You go on to mention how we like or dislike our character traits and actions that we see in others. That's true. But I think you are making a simple thing very complicated. Steve |

6 | Is the Formula for sin to hate anything? | John 3:14 | Giam | 46667
Steve! I used to think the ssame thing: "We naturally love ourselves too much." So I know how u must think: I am sure u will let me know if i am wrong! So u must just wish u cd love others with as much love as u love yourself, right? So when u don't like others, u must blame them for u not liking them, and say so like this: Boy, if my wife or whoever wd just be good and or right, then i cd love them like I love me! Right? So u must also have a problem identifying what sin vanity is: Is vanity self-Love or self-hate? U must think the sin of vanity is self-love! So since vanity is the sin of self-Love, and since I love me too much already, then of course, i must trying to hate me some to get that self-Love down to normal levels! Then however, it wd a sin for my neighbor to hate who it is a sin for me to love! Me! And since my neyba must also hate himself, it wd be a sin for me to hate who it is ok fro him to hate! Him! Right? So u must have lots of family problems in your church! For how can it be a sin for me to lvoe what my wife must love? Me! And how cd it be a sin for her to lvoe who it wd be a sin for me to hate? Her! Plus of course, if self-Love is a sin, then that sin of self-Love must be in opposition to the Law of love for my neighbor as I love myself! Steve, do u see? It is because we assumed that we loved each other TOO much that we cd NOT figure out WHY then we cd not love our neybas as we loved ourselves, why we cd not love our neybas to the extent we thot we loved ourselves! Since Love is God's greatest law, only God cd teach us HOW to love in the first palce! So our assumption that we loved ourselves too much on the preseumption that we had been properly already taught to lvoe ourselves by our parents was the WRONG assumption! For we had not yet had God teach us how to love ourselves! John 6:45: God will teach us! 1 John 4:19: We love God only becaue he first loved us! So the real truth is: if u love u too much, u must be able to lvoe me too much! But U can't give away what u don't have! So the reason why u find it so hard to give love to me MUST mean u have too little for yourself! Ah! So if at the same time u think u love u too much, u also don't like me as much as u love u, then which is it? Then it MUST mean that u also HATE YOURSELF! Ah! And if u are sure u lvoe u, then u must also love ME to the SAME extent! See? Ah! So which is it? It is both! To the extent to love U MUST be a little since u hate me so much! So? So to the extent of the lot of hate u hate me with, U must be also hating U! And to the little extent u love me with, u MUST also be also lving u a little! Ah! Now, i am thinking clearly! The reason I have such a hard time loving my neighbors is because i Love me little! And to the extent i find it so easy to hate my neighbors is becaue i hate me a lot! Ah! Now this makes sense! God never taught me how to lvoe me, so no wonder i love/d me too little and so cdn't/can't love my neigbor all that much! Ah! Plus if i loved me too much, why wd i need God's Love? Ah! It is because I lvoe me too litttle that I need God's agape love! Plus since Love is keepings God's laws, 1 john 5:3 and since sin is the trasnsgression of the Law, 1 john 3:4, then vanity MUST be self-hate, not self-love! Ah! makes perfect sense! Sigh Steve, hope that helps u, man! I mean it! T b continued. Loving u all the way as myself by loving myself all the way as u, giam |
