Hi Andy-It is 5 am in califusa 04 12 02--in vs.7 we come to "wittness" "marturia" which carries a "judicial" connotation and then in vss. 11-12 the word "received." This ,according to Strong's, carries the meaning that the Jews did not-"assume the office"-in vs 11- then it changes in vs 12 to lambano-"to take hold of"--grammaticaly the word is used only as "an alternative in certain tenses" I know this is not the kind of response you seek but it is what I'm being shown in this study.in Him angel-1 | ||||||

This is fine Angel, I am interested in etymology and translations and words in their own right. Just keep on with what you feel the Spirit prompting you to say. Yes Witness does carry the judicial connotation of bearing witness,of being able to know that what John the baptist or John the evangelist saw was Truth and not a lie. My wife and I are going to be away from the computer until next Thursday afternoon. We are having a short break away in the bush. I will have more to say later. Andy |
