1 | A Study of John's Gospel. | John 1:1 | Rainbow Maker | 40540
John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. John 1:11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, John 1:13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Right on Angel1, Just to reiterate some of the things you have said: John 1:10 says: He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. Jesus, the Logos, he who "spoke" the world into being came down into this world, the world that was made through him and was not known. Furthermore Jesus came to his own, to the Jews, the chosen people of God and they did not know him. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, John 1:13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. This, above is the part that tells us that those of us who do receive Jesus then have the right to become the Spiritual children of God, spiritual because we are born not of blood and flesh but of the spirit through the will of God. Then John says again that the word became flesh and lived amongst us and we saw his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father. Here John speaks for all the people who saw the glory of the Son shining through his physical presence, how wonderful that would have been. Andy |

3 | A Study of John's Gospel. | John 1:1 | Cynthia | 41331
Dear Angel 1 - F.Y.I. of message I sent to Rainbowmaker/Andy. I apologize for the delay in responding. Actually I was trying to navigate through the numerous threads to see if you've responded to my response of your request in joining you in the Gospel of John. But you know, I feel somewhat dismayed by the response from Angel1. As opposed to trying to pick apart what you mean (which scriptures are up for one's interpretation anyhow)Angel1 needn't be hostile in trying to figure out what you mean. This is not a fight fest of who knows what more or who could decipher one scripture from another. I've noticed on this forum that people do that a lot. As opposed to embracing each other in the very fact that we all share the love of the gospels, the entire bible, others scabble over non-esstenials. We could benefit more by demonstrating the spirit of a loving nature when responding to each other's comments. God Bless, Your Sister in Christ Cynthia |

Hi cynthia-I am sorry you thought I was "hostile". That was not my intention.Communicating with only typed words is difficult for me . My way is very expressive and the tone of voice means much.Yet, we are here on a computer and I must deal with it. Thanks for your input. in Him angel1

: A Study of John's Gospel. Firstly I am sorry you misunderstood my Australian slang "Right On" means that everything is absolutely correct, I then went on to give it all another slant that's all. Note: Angel these are the next verses I want us to consider, I will send Cynthia a copy. I suggest we go away and read them in our Bibles and pray over them and then bring our answers back here on the 12th April. Then we will all post them and then discuss them. John 1:6 There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. John 1:7 He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. John 1:8 He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. John 1:9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. John 1:15 John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.'" John 1:16 For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. John 1:17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. Andy |
