1 | is jesus god? | John 1:1 | CDBJ | 56493
Hi Hank, I wonder how the NWT deals with Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. The only way this is possible is for one to admit that Jesus Christ is God. CDBJ |

2 | is jesus god? | John 1:1 | kalos | 56495
New World Translation (NWT) Acts 20:28 Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed YOU overseers, to shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own [Son]. If this phrase had read 'purchased with the blood of his own' -- period -- it would have been OK. But you see how subtle they are. With the addition of ONE word in brackets, "[Son]", the meaning changes entirely. Thus they write it: "which he purchased with the blood of his own [Son]." |

Greetings Kalos, the Greek word HUIOS, translated Son, isn’t even found in the verse, but then again they don’t follow the original language anyway. It looks like the adversary has created another tool for blinding people so they don’t see the glorious truth about Christ. 2 Cor. 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: [4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. CBDJ I'm glad you posted this. I was going to ask if 'Son' was in the original greek text. Thanks! :) |
