1 | Who is the we in John 4:20? | John 15:1 | Morant61 | 14644
Greetings Kindness! Actually, there is no "we" in the Greek text. The Greek literally reads, "Our Fathers worshipped on this mountain, but you say, 'The place where it is necessary to worship is in Jerusalem.'" I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | Who is the we in John 4:20? | John 15:1 | Ray | 14651
HiTim, You are correct in your quoting of the Greek. As a capitalizer of Deity I would make it "but You say" for she is talking to Jesus. The "we" comes a few verses later and is the basis for the question.
3 | Who is the we in John 4:20? | John 15:1 | Morant61 | 14666
Hi Ray! I thought for a second that I hadn't looked at the context closely enough. However, the "you" in John 4:20 is plural. The "you say" is also plural. So, I would not capitalize this one, because she is apparentally contrasting the Samaritans and the Jews. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
