1 | Only one incarnation! | Luke 9:32 | Mommapbs | 39392
Jesus Christ is the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of the Father. (John 3:16)There was only one incarnation. In Scripture we see several "theophanies" but only ONE incarnation - God entering humanity - "for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 1:20. JdthCstl writes:"If you read the scriptures in Luke, you will know, that the holy spirit incarnated in the body of the baby Jesus. He grew up to be a man died, and went to heaven. You also must realize that prior to this event, the holy spirit had other incarnations. A revelation of two of his incarnations was reveal to Peter, James, and John in Luke 9:32" In this account of the Transfiguration of Jesus, the two men are identified as Moses and Elijah. Both of these were men, born of earthly fathers and mothers. No where does Scripture indicate the these were the product of the Holy Spirit's incarnation! Also, in your post you left out the key element of Christianity - when Jesus died, He was resurrected, THEN He was taken into Heaven. The fact of the resurrection is the confident expectation of every believer! Praise be to God for His matchless Gift of Jesus to us! Mommapbs |

2 | Only one incarnation! | Luke 9:32 | JdthCstl | 39567
Mommapbs, You stated that Elijah and Moses were born of earthly parents. That is true. But is also true that spirits are crafted by this method. God is an invisible force. And has been among us in many different physical bodies. Just as God was not recognize when he came in the form of Jesus, neither was he recognize in the past. The trinity is a fact. God is the holy spirit, the father, and the son. And is also true that God stated that the body of his son would never rot. So I gather it must be among us somewhere. Christianity is based on being born, growing old, and dying, with the hope of a new awakening. Praise our God and savior.

4 | Does Scripture support these? | Luke 9:32 | JdthCstl | 39670
In Exodus 2, you will find the earthly parents of Moses. In 1 Chronicles 8:27 you find the name of Elijah earthly father. If you read 1 Samuel 8:5,6,7. You will know that God was the King of the Hebrews, in the old testament. Also if you read Hebrews 1, you will learn that the force of God spoke through prophets of the past. To us he spoke through Jesus Christ.(God incarnated in the flesh)In John 1, it is stated very clearly. And in 2 Corinthians, you will learn about life and death. |

5 | Does Scripture support these? | Luke 9:32 | Mommapbs | 39688
Greetings Judith: I would encourage you to look again at your statements and then address the specifics I have identified. 1. "But is also true that spirits are crafted by this method." What are you referring to? How are spirits crafted in the same manner as human beings other than they were created by God? 2. And (the invisible force of God)has been among us in many different physical bodies. Tis sounds pretty "New Age" to me. God is not an invisible FORCE - let's get down to how He describes Himself. As far as the prophets of the past, they were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write as they did, but they were mere human beings; indeed set apart by God as His instruments. But God was incarnate in only 1 physical body, that of Jesus Christ. (John 3:16) 3. "So I gather it(the body of Jesus) must be among us somewhere." Where does Scripture say that the "body of Jesus" is? His spirit is among us and in each believer, but His body? Acts 1:6-11 records the ascension of Jesus in to Heaven and promises His bodily return! 4.Your comments about "being born, growing old and dying with the hope of a new awakening" could describe Islam, et al. So HOW does this form the basis for Christianity? Christianity is all about the birth, death and ressurrection of JESUS! For the believer, we have this assurance: that Christ lives within us and one day we will share His glory! (Col 1:27) Col 1:15-29 would be a good passage for you to look at. Mommapbs |

6 | Does Scripture support these? | Luke 9:32 | JdthCstl | 39699
Im a christian. And I believe in life after death. Jesus proved this to us by being born as a baby. The word grafted means that the spirit of God joined in the body of Jesus. True the trinity meaning the father, the son, and the holy spirit are in heaven. If you read John 1. You will realize that Christ has been alive since the beginning of time. And is Himself God. He came to us as Jesus. But Im sure this was not his only appearance in the world he created. For nothing exist that he did not make.
7 | Does Scripture support these? | Luke 9:32 | Reformer Joe | 39712
Judith: You keep repeating your assertion that Christ took human form before, but still have provided the slightest shred of Scriptural support for your claim. What you say is not revealed in Scripture at all, and it flies completely in the face of historic Christian orthodoxy. With all due respect, what you keep saying does not automatically come true simply because you keep saying it. If you wouldn't mind, would you share with us what community of faith you belong to that would lead you to believe some of the things that I have read in your post? --Joe! |
