Hi! Following are excerpts from one of my previous posts on this topic: "I offer to you two Scriptures that speak on our abilities to fail God: 1 Corinthians 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! Hebrews 4:1 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. Christ promised that, in Him, we are granted Eternal Life; this promise does not grant us immunity to defile ourselves and God while simply relying on some special voucher that allows people to do as they please! It is not in vain that Jesus says that not all who call Him Lord will be saved but those who do the Will of His Father! (Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 6:46)" Though many choose not to heed even Christ's own warnings, Scripture does not provide a contractural obligation on God's part to grant Salvation to all who claim to belong to Christ... Even as early as Peter's ministry there were those who accepted Christ, were baptized, began fellowship, then decided that they knew better and began to twist Scripture in order to appear more spiritual/all-knowing (2 Peter 2:9-22)... God calls us to be perfect (to emulate Him) and part of that process is to give up our old nature and take on the nature of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-32), for Scripture attests that the flesh cannot please God! (Romans 8:8; 1 Thessalonians 4:1; Hebrews 11:6).. Scripture also testefies that we are to inherit the Kingdom of God(Ephesians 5:5; Colossians 3:24; Hebrews 1:14 thru 2:1) , and that nothing unclean would enter into the City, the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:10, 22-27)... It would be simple pride that would convince us that Christ died on the Cross so that we can live a live of sin, yet be eternally saved... any who choose to believe that all of our sins are automatically cleanse in Jesus, regardless of our desire to repent from them or not I liken them to the Pharisees and Sadducees that rejected Jesus citing that they were descendants of Abraham: children of the Promise hence "saved!" God Bless! Angel |

Angel, How many times have you been saved today? For we know from scripture that God can't look upon sin. And I believe you will agree with me that we all sin each day, either by committing sin or omitting to do what God lays on our hearts. I believe that salvation is a gift from God to be accepted. Scripture says that God chastens His children. If we lose our salvation when we sin, then who is it that God chastens? One single sin separates us from God. Why do people not tell All, that will hear, that they have been born again everytime they get saved again, and again? Isn't salvation the second or third time just as important as the first? So I ask you again, how many times in your christian walk have you been saved? In Love, JAL |

I think one thing we all need to keep in mind at this point is that what Jesus Christ did at calvary was a one time thing. He only had to die once,Ro 6:10. Why would we wanna put Jesus back on the cross? When Jesus died on the cross he satisfied Gods rightious requirement for our sin. He took the death penalty for us. Now with all this in mind lets see what we will see. We all blow it on a daily basis to be sure. Do we lose our salvation once we have it, I dont know,But these things I do know,1.When we sin we we break fellowship with God. Ja 5:16 1Jn 1:9 It is encumbant on us to deal with our sin.Thats why we confess our sin to God and each other. This is something we better be doing every day, because my brothers and sisters Iknow I fall short everyday. The key is we dont have to continue in our sin, thats why I gotta get on my knees before God every day. We can turn away from God, we can walk away from him. Heb 6:4-6 If one willfully chooses to stay in their sin they crucify Christ all over again. 1Jn1:8,10 If we say we dont sin it says the truth is not in us and we make God out to be a liar. Some pretty stark contrasts here dont you think. Every last one of us better be sure that what we beleive and teach lines up with what Gods Word says. What ever resides in our heart is what we will teach others. Lets make sure we help people make it to heaven and not hell. Love you guys. lionheart. |

I say these things to the truly born-again. As Paul said, let each of us examine ourselves, if the Spirit of Christ is in us! John 3:3-7 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” John 1:12-13 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power (exousia – right or authority) to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on (eis - into) his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 10:27-29 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man (Lit. none or nothing) is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.” 1 Peter 1:23 “Being born again, not of corruptible (decaying, mortal) seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:24-25 “Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.” 1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. The message of these scriptures is plain. We must be born of the Spirit. Sin brings death; God gives eternal life. God gives the right to be born of the Spirit. Spiritual birth is of incorruptible seed, by the word of God. This word lives and abides – stays - forever. If what you have heard (the word, the seed sown) abides in you, you shall also continue, in the promise of eternal life. You are one of Jesus’ sheep, you know Him, He knows you, and none can take you away. This is spiritual birth. To understand what qualifies you for this birth, hear what Jesus says about being His disciple. The words of these scriptures are plain and specific, that when you are born again, that birth if from God, of incorruptible seed, giving eternal live, which no one can take away. Eternal life is not eternal if it can be lost. If you are one to whom eternal life was given, and you lost it, and died, it was not eternal. There is no such thing as temporary eternal life. Some may make the objection that though no one can take you away, you can “walk away on your own”. The Bible says I won’t, and praise God for that! According to John 10:29, nothing, not even me, can pluck me from Jesus’ or my Father’s hand! John says “were born” – this is past tense! 1 John 5:13 says “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” Again, eternal life is not eternal if it is temporary. This verse tells us we can know we have eternal life! Why is this important? I gain a completely different perspective of my life when I realize I have already entered into my eternal heavenly spiritual state. I am further from sin and closer to God. My confidence in ultimate victory is complete. My joy abounds, and my light shines! Love in Christ, Mark |
