Mark, having recently viewed your posts, I begin this response with a welcome to you. Indeed, the clarion call to salvation is one of God's grace and by no means of man's works! Man never achieves his salvation by his good works nor "loses" it by his bad. It is, as Paul points out in Ephesians 2:8,9, a gift of God's grace through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Any attempt to add works into God's plan of salvation is, whether we are willing to admit it or not, an attempt to elevate man into the position of being an instrument of his own salvation. Pagan religions teach this. The Christian religion decidely does not. The Bible teaches that salvation is solely of God. Man therefore can neither attain it nor maintain it by his works. --Hank | ||||||
