1 | Kingdom of heaven/kingdom of God? | Matt 6:9 | WRS | 34884
In Matthew 19:23-24 it reads: "Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." QUESTION: What is the kingdom of heaven and what is the kingdom of God mentioned in these two verses. Is the meaning for both the same. If not, what are the respective meanings of both kingdoms? Thank You. SW |

2 | Kingdom of heaven/kingdom of God? | Matt 6:9 | jlpangilinan | 34885
They are the same: Christ mention that His Father is in Heaven: Mt 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Mt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Kingdom of God (Mt 6:33; Mr 1:14-15; Lu 4:43) "kingdom of Christ" (Mt 13:41; 20:21) "kingdom of Christ and of God" (Eph 5:5) "kingdom of David" (Mr 11:10) "the kingdom" (Mt 8:12; 13:19) "kingdom of heaven" (Mt 3:2; 4:17; 13:41), all denote the same thing under different aspects, viz.: (1) Christ's mediatorial authority, or his rule on the earth; (2) the blessings and advantages of all kinds that flow from this rule; (3) the subjects of this kingdom taken collectively, or the Church. |
