1 | Can we be baptized with the Holy Ghost? | Matt 3:11 | nancygorman | 173144 | ||
Brad, (funny my brothers name is brad) I know all the scriptures to back up my words. I will take the time now to look them all up. The word is hidden in my heart by His Spirit. That is the our Complete Work of Christ. The Holy Spirit within so no man need to teach us. I speak scripture. Question one. Being Complete in Him is enough. Yet the workings of the Holy Spirit are the gifts and fruits and these may take time to be evident in our life. Fruits are love joy peace patience ... etc. I am sure you know the scriptures. The 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit, are in Corinthians 12:8-10. These can be manifest immediately or need some time to develop and perfect. They are all the complete work of Christ, yet the on going work of the Holy Spirit within. Acts 8:16 "(For as yet (the Holy Ghost) was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus." The second baptism confirmed. Question 2: Jesus breathed on them and said Receive the Holy Ghost. John 20:22 Then in Acts chapter 2:4 they were filled and spoke in tongues.. 2:15 is where it says they are not drunk as you suppose. Acts 4:31 Third time: And when they prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled together and they were all filled with the HOly Ghost and they spoke the word with boldness. More than twice confirmed. Question 3. What specific things did I say are you referring to, so that I can back it up for you? My experiences are real. If you do not believe me than you are not my true brother in Christ. God is a blessing and a delight. Delight yourself in Him! He loves you!!! nancygorman |

Nancy, Thank you for more fully explaining your view- I think! We will have to agree to disagree on this matter:-) Experience is NOT the judge of fellowship, dear sister, nor is whether I "believe" you or not! Our faith rests in the all-sufficiency of our Savior and our relationship to Him alone! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
