[I do not follow how the Scripture you provided tells me that "all are saved".] Refusal of the message brings damnation, isn't that correct? Suppose one lives a blameless life without the written law to guide him or the knowledge of Jesus who saves him, what do you think his punishment should be? [Romans 1 says much the same thing as 1 Thess 2:12. Romans 3 reminds us that no one seeks God and ALL have sinned. The penalty for sin is death (damned?)Romans 6:23 IN ADAM, all die but IN CHRIST - all are made alive (1 Cor 15:22)and if we are made alive IN CHRIST, we must have been dead in our sins first.(Eph 2:1)] Are you alive in Christ? What are doing about it that you're not experiencing what He says you should be, i.e., Abundant life? If you, a professing Christian, claiming to be alive in Him, aren't experiencing "abundant life" do you think there might a problem somewhere? You should be already experiencing that without someone to tell you. If I come and tell you about it, you have a choice to make, don't you? You say "born again" to be saved yet many have died [maybe billions] without ever hearing His name who lived blameless lives, what about them? [ALL are dead in their sins but not ALL are IN CHRIST.] Christ didn't come to just save those "in Him" who hear the gospel and receive it. He came and saved all men who died in their sin [from Adam] who lived a righteousness as best they knew how given they had nothing to go by. He places them also in Himself. Remember where there is no law sin [the penalty for being born in it] is NOT imputed. [Jesus told us plainly, you MUST be born again. This is ALL of God's doing; He baptizes us INTO CHRIST upon our confession of faith.] I believe it is the Holy Spirit who baptizes us into Christ. [I do not see how we "all are saved" apart from a personal choice. Because of Christ's propitiation for sin, all CAN be saved,(1 John 2:2) but as you have reminded us from God's Word - not all will chose Him.] I can't agree more....But if they never hear the word....And if when they do, accept it WE are to make disciples of them....not gettum saved... the assumption should be that they already are so when we go in it should be to confirm what God has, maybe for years, been doing in their hearts. This is why having the mind of God is so important. That's why Pentecost happened. If they reject the gospel we preach...Too bad. I hope I'm clear on this mommapbs |
