1 | Who is Jesus? | Matt 24:28 | rosscamp@home.com | 23875
Dear Ed, you wrote: "Thus we see the illogic of Bahi’a they say Jesus was a true prophet to be believed, yet they say he was wrong that other true prophets have come." I don't believe I understand what you have said with that statement. Baha'is believe in all of Almighty God's true prophets. You also wrote: "His explanation completely closed the door to the idea of another prophet’s appearance before his spectacular and magnificent second coming." If we look closely at the Words of the Lord Christ recorded at Matthew chapter 17, verses 11 and 12 we discern a remarkable prophecy that 'Elijah' would come again in the future, and we also see that the Lord identified John the Immerser also as 'Elijah' who had already come. I'm sure you recall that He also identified John the immerser as a prophet. It is clear, therefore, that the 'Elijah' personage Whom He was at that moment prophesying to appear in the future would also be at least a prophet such as John the immerser. John was not the same individual who was the original Elijah. Nor would we expect the "Elijah' of the future to be either the same John the immerser, nor the same original Elijah. John came in the spirit and power of Elijah and fulfilled the role of the promised Elijah at the first appearance of the Lord Christ. The next appearance of 'Elijah' would correspondingly happen before His future appearance. God's thoughts are not men's thoughts. He views happenings with relation to His Holy Purpose differently than humans, and we need to strive to discern His explanations which He has prepared for us. Those explanations suit us. Likewise, concerning your questions related to His Holiness our Lord the Bab, we need to keep in mind that Almighty God's Holy Messengers complete their Missions in perfect conformity with His Plan and Will, and each Mission will have some similarities with an earlier one, yet will not be identical. The Gospel of His Holiness the Christ includes not only that which He did during His appearance in the first century, but also includes His prophecy and Promise to Establish His Kingdom on Earth so that God's will will take place "as in Heaven, also upion Earth". It is always a test for mankind that God's Holy Messengers never fulfill Holy Prophecy in the manner or according to the sequence and chronology which men and women on earth expect. All in the first century were expecting the Messiah to immediately push out the Romans and immediately set up His Kingdom on Earth. He suffered and died 'instead'. And now that the Institutions for the establishment of the Kingdom of God on Earth have actually been revealed to mankind, and the embryo of that Kingdom Administration has been delineated and is currently 'incubating', a billion Christians are instead expecting the Lord to arrive like literal lightening and 'rapture' them away to Heaven forever. The Mission of His Holiness the Bab is not identical to the Mission of His Holiness the Christ. God cannot receive a Revelation. He is "the All-Knowing, the Wise". The Lord Christ, long after His ascension, received a Revelation, "which God gave Him". (Rev. 1:1) Upon His reappearance on Earth, in the Person of His Holiness the Bab, He received another Revelation. His Holiness the Bab simultaneously fulfilled the prophetic return of Elijah, because He was the Herald of the One Who would bring to application the reality of all Holy Prophecy related to the Kingdom of God, as spoken by His Holiness the Christ. The Greek word 'astrape' of Matthew 24:27 is mistranslated "lightning" in all English translations of the Greek Scriptures of which I am aware and I possess more than two dozen different translations. That word is Stong's Greek word 796 and Strong supplies the alternate meaning "bright shining" from the root "glare". The Messianic Israelites, an intensely studious group of Christians discovered that fact and have cross referenced that word of Mat.24:27 to Revelation chapter 22:16 wher the Lord Ifdentifies Himself as that "Bright Shining" of Mat.24:27 by declaring: "I am the Bright Morning Star". The sun is the bright morning star, and the Lord certainly is not the literal sun. However the spiritual brightness of His appearance is like the sun. And that 'Sun' emerged in the East, and 'shone' to the West. Lightning doesn't do that . It is local, between two clouds or from the ground to a cloud etc. Eagles and vultures literally have telescopic vision. Thus they see a mouse on the ground although soaring high in the sky. John 6:50-63 very clearly identifies the corpse of Mat.24:28. Verse 63 says: "It is the spirit that is life-giving; the flesh is of no use at all." Verse 28 is spiritual. The "eagles" not only receive their spiritual food from the Corpse at the Appearance of that Corpse, but they also possess the keen spiritual vision to detect the Corpse. "Look! I am coming as a thief." (Rev.16:15) Cordially, Ross |

2 | Who is Jesus? | Matt 24:28 | EdB | 23901
Ross I gave you an opening and you jumped, I said no prophet and you clearly show that there will be a prophet before Christ return. I fact it is two prophets that stand in Jerusalem and convict the world of it’s disbelief in Christ. Notice Jesus was very specific here, he said there would be two, they would be in Jerusalem, the world would see them. Did the Bab do any of this? Why ignore the facts if you seeking the truth? You focus on John the immerser as you like to call him, what was his function? To start a new religion? No to make way for the coming of the Lord Jesus. In fact what were all the prophets did they point to each other? No the pointed to the one that would take away the sins of this world Christ Jesus. Why seek the prophets when you already have the Son of God if your seeking the truth? You focus on the word for lightning “astrape” assumes there is only one translation for a word. Even Strong’s that you so love to quote shows more than one, however the intent is clear it means lightning. I can assure you if you read Greek you will find many secular writers that use the word astrape when they clearly mean lightning. You assume the translators of the Bibles are idiots and the Bab came to set them straight. But your focus is very limited you miss all the other signs, trumpets, crowds gathering, why question one word if your seeking the truth? As for the gathering of birds (vultures, eagles whatever) you seem to want to find some mystical meaning here. Jesus was telling the disciples that His return would NOT be without notice, He then talked about the lightning, and the vultures. If something dies in the desert can you tell it from a distance? Yes, you will see birds circling the body. They are drawn by nature to it. Jesus was saying the same thing when he returns you will know because great crowds will encircle Him they will be drawn by nature. Why seek the mystical if your seeking the truth? Why follow the counterfeit if your seeking the truth? EdB |

3 | Who is Jesus? | Matt 24:28 | rosscamp@home.com | 23914
Dear Ed, In many of the Christian churches which I visit, such as Baptist, Full Gospel, Seventh Day Adventist, Evangelical Free, Pentecostal and others, I hear variations of the explanation that the brilliance of the Lord's coming will instantly perish the wicked on Earth. You wrote: "you will know because great crowds will encircle Him they will be drawn by nature." Who are the "crowds" of you explanation? Do you believe that they are believers? It is interesting to note that ample historical documentary testifies that such crowds did in fact flock to the main Founder of the Baha'i Faith, amongst which large numbers were religious leaders and govenment officials, which constant attention resulted in His exile as a prisoner of the state, to various cities, Baghdad, Constantinople, Adrianople and eventually Akka' in Palestine. The brilliance of His Light attracted those crowds and produced fear in the hearts of political leaders. Those are indisputable historical facts. And Even the encyclopedia Britannica provides a fairly accurate account of the martyrdom of His Holiness the Bab, where there were many thousands of eye witnesses. There is nothing mystical about those realities, because they are fulfillment. The mystical aspect is within the prophecies. Baha'is do not search for mysticism in Holy Prophecy. The mysticism is often part of prophecy. Rather they search for its understanding. Ignoring or avoiding mystical prophetic verses does not produce understanding of those verses, such as Isaiah 22:25. Many Christians whom I have approached to seek their understanding of that verse, for example, have displayed the attitude that there is no need to consider such verses, that they are superfluous for Christians. They appear to have abandoned the principle which states: "Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance proceeding forth from the mouth of the Lord". Cordially, Ross |

4 | Who is Jesus? | Matt 24:28 | EdB | 23917
Ross You have an interesting way of deflecting questions. You either change the subject or you ask a question in return. Jesus’ return will be plainly and clearly seen by the world. That is a fact. And one that the Bab did not fulfill. I never heard of the Bab and I'm almost totally certain not many others have either. It wasn’t until I started studying false religions did I learn of this deceiver who preached lies straight from the pit of hell. Isaiah 22:25 is about Eliakim the chief steward in the household of King Hezekiah. He was given authority to determine who would or would not see the King. He served faithfully and all glory and honor and prosperity of his family hung on him like a peg. However later he did fall and the “peg”, if you will, was removed and all that he had fell. It is referenced only in Rev 3:7 to show Jesus has the authority to determine who will and who will not see the God. Jesus said he was the door and to see God you must enter through Him. No mystery no confusion, no mutilated scripture. Now before you continue on trying to raise questions why don’t you answer a very simple question what did the Bab ever do for you? EdB |

Dear Ed, the Prayers and Writings of His Holiness the Bab make my heart rejoice every time I read them. I must leave this forum now, Ed. Thank you for corresponding with me. Some, it appears, are taking offense by my presence here and I do not wish to offend anyone. I will write a note and bow out. Cordially,Ross |
