1 | Who is Jesus? | Matt 24:28 | Morant61 | 23706
Greetings Lisa! I think you have misunderstood! Where in my posts did I ridicule Ross? Where did I say that he wasn't welcome? I have simply said that I would like to know where he was coming from theologically. The fact is that Baha'i uses terms differently than orthodox Christianity. So, we need to be aware of it! At the same time, we do no one a Christian service by refusing to confront them with the true nature and identity of Christ. Scripture is very clear about who He is and how we are to be saved. Take for example Rom. 10:9, "That if you confess with your mouth, ‘‘Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Whether you believe the term 'cult' is appropriate is not the issue! The issue is has he placed his faith in Christ and Christ alone! By the way, Webster defines a cult as "a system of religious worship or ritual." So, I guess we all would qualify. :-) When Christians use the term cult, we usually are refering to groups which claim to be Christian but reject the fundamental doctrines of the faith. Indeed I did misunderstand then. I thought you were giving him a bad time. I'm so sorry! The whole cult thing is my issue. It may not be yours but I believe it is important. I dislike the whole "confront them" mentality of some evangelization. I prefer to show by example. People ask why I'm always so happy. I say because I love Jesus and He loves me. Happy Thanksgiving! 3 | Who is Jesus? | Matt 24:28 | Morant61 | 23711
Greetings Lisa! No problem! :-) I understand that we need to be examples, but there is a place for confrontation as well. Say for instance that someone tells us that all you have to do to get to heaven is live a good life. You then have an obligation to show them the truth from Scripture. Do it in love, yes! But, you must show them the truth. That is the situation with cults. They are full of people who think they are right with God, when we know from Scripture that they aren't! So, which is more loving: to show them what Scripture says or to leave them in sin? There is also the added problem that some cults will try to get on this forum and lure away 'converts' who don't know any better. That is why I always try to get people to come clean on who they are and who they are associated with. Ross was perfectly honest when asked, and I thanked him for his honesty. Well, I have to run to the store! Happy Thanksgiving and God bless! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

You are a wise man friend Tim. Maybe I'll just follow you around for awhile and learn a thing or two about aggressive (rather than passive) evangelization. Hugs! Lisa |
