2 | Rapture - Bodies or souls disappear? | Matt 24:27 | HeirofGod | 658
The Rapture and the Glorious Appearing are two different events. Left Behind is talking about the Rapture, Matthew 24 is talking about the Glorious Appearing. Our bodies will disappear on the day the Rapture takes place or there will be no mystery for those who are left behind. If the bodies are left they will only think we have died but we will be very much alive. We will have our bodies with us they just will not be the corruptible bodies we have now. Remember when Jesus rose from the dead and he went back to the house where the disciples were? He just appeared in the room but he could be touched(Luke 24:39). Matthew 24 is saying that every eye will see him when he returns. The Rapture is only for the saints, so only we will see him in the sky. The Glorious Appearing is for Judgment this is when we the saints that were raptured return with him to Judge the world(those left behind that did not get saved during the tribulation period). This computer won't leave me alone enough to type all the scriptures that go with the different events so I will send them later if you are interested.
3 | Rapture vs. Glorious Appearing? | Matt 24:27 | Listener | 16448
The rapture and the glorious appearing are linked in scripture. The "stealth rapture" makes an interesting twist at the box office I cannot find a home for the idea in the scriptures. The following verse indicates the sound of his coming and the rapture: 1 Thessalonians 4 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a ***loud command***, with the ***voice of the archangel*** and with the ***trumpet call of God***, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. The following equates the blessed hope of the rapture and the glorious appearing: Titus 2 13looking for the ***blessed hope and glorious appearing*** of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, The following equates His coming and the rapture: John 14 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, ***I will come again and receive you to Myself***; that where I am, there you may be also. The following indicate the visibility of his coming: Matthew 24 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Revelation 1 7Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. The following indicates the glory of his coming at the time when he gives rest to the saints (the rapture) 2 Thessalonians 1 6 God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. |

Listener, I think He can come as a thief in the night (Matt 24:43 1The 5:2), then shine brightly as you indicated. I think people will see the rapture (Matt 24:40ff) and don't see a "stealth rapture" in the Bible. Steve
