JaunMas: I am not sure that there a lot of Christians in the cycle of sin. Perhaps my deffination of being genuinely born again is more narrow than others, I do not know. Perhaps the most important concern is am I a faithful Christian? I suggest that if we as mature believers see a brother in a cycle of sin we would do well to follow Matthew chapter 18. I am not one to judge others sin, as much as I hope I am an encourager to those abiding in Christ. I again feel it's better to be an example, and lead others to Christ by establishing a genuine interest in them as persons. Jesus did so where ever He went. Jesus walked with sinners, and they were so attracted to His holiness and love the followed him and left what they were doing there and them. Perhaps people ate not attracted to Jesus because of our harsh unkind way of relating to them just as they are. Do you think that is possible? The saying that flys are drawn to sweet much more than sour is a wise saying. People will respond to genuine interest in their betterment, and needs being ment. What need do unsaved and blackslidden Christians have? Love, forgivness, and acceptance are essential elements we all have big needs for. If the people of Jesus Christ don't have these vertues than the world will die without knowing who and how Jesus is and changes lives. Perhaps we place so much emphasis on sexual sin being the "worst" sin and fail to see that greed, anger, gossip, and not abiding in Christ are all sins just as well, and are forgiven in the same way. My question is why spend all this effort on this pitucular sin? Is there not much mor upliftime things to bring to the Forum? I am sure many born again believers here in the Forum have been once in the slavery of the very sin that has been discussed. I wonder if they have any bad recall of their forgiven sin when so much time is spent on this subject? I personally feel that much more dialogue on this is mute. Why not praise the Lord for the Mercy we have so undeservingly received? What a wonderful topic! How unworthy we are, and how gracious our Lord Jesus is. Blessings. justme |

Justme, The reason this is important to some people is because they are in the midst of this issue being involved in a separation or divorce. People can be under a burden of guilt for what has happened. If there is cleansing and forgiveness they want to find it. Maybe we can go on without spiritual reconciliation. Where there is guilt, Jesus may have the answer. On the other hand if you talk to people who are going through this and if in their situation repentance is the biblical answer they need to know that so they can find God's path for them. We are discussing these scriptures that are here for us to use, as 2 Tim 3:16 says "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." tortoise |
