Morant61: Brother Tim, in 3,000 sermons You are able to track you messages much better than any other Pastor I know of. Congradulations you can't have ADD and do that, I admire your organization skills. I have mostly preached book by book. I am under the understanding that by doing book by book you eventually cover everything, and no one can say you are preaching at then alone and their sin. I have found it is amazing how often the Holy Spirit uses the Word to reach those who need just that message at that time. If some who find fault at how preachers preach I would like to see how they suffer in preparing to bring forth the Word God has directed us to preach. Never did I feel I did enough preperation, Sermon preperation is the hardest work there is to do. Blessings Pastor Tim. justme |

Greetings Justme! I have OCD tendencies! :-) I prepare a fairly detailed sermon outline and then print it off and store it in a binder, a specific one for each year. I save the outline as a file on the computer with a name including the number for the specific sermon and then a number for the year. I then create a database entry with all of the relevant information, including: sermon name, date, scripture passage, topic, file name, ect.... So, I have all of this on just about every sermon I have ever preached. :-) I know, I need a life. ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
