1 | God and gods? | Matt 11:11 | ralph2 | 123217
"But we think it proper to hear from you what your thoughts are, for truly as regards this sect or as you say "cult") it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against." (Acts 28:22) "Knowing well that this nation has had you as judge for many years, I readily speak in my defense the things about myself, as you are in a position to find out that for me it has not been more than twelve days since I went up to worship in Jerusalem; and they found me neither in the temple arguing with anyone nor causing a mob to rush together, either in the synagogues or throughout the city. Nor can they prove to you the things of which they are accusing me right now. But I do admit this to you, that, according to the way that they call a ‘sect,’ (you would say "cult") in this manner I am rendering sacred service to the God of my forefathers, as I believe all the things set forth in the Law and written in the Prophets; and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." (Acts 24:10-15) "Happy are you when people reproach you and persecute you and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against you for my sake. Rejoice and leap for joy, since your reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to you." (Matt 5:11,12) I pray the Father forgives you for you are truly ignorant of what you are saying, but at the same time, I thank you for the joy you cause me by your public ridicule. Sincerely. |

2 | Revealing error is persecution? :-) | Matt 11:11 | Morant61 | 123233
Greetings Ralph2! If your group is teaching error and someone points that out in a loving manner, then that cannot be called 'persecution'! :-) One way to beginning addressing the error is to respond to my questions. Jehovah Himself said that there are 'no' other gods but Him. Therefore, Jesus cannot be 'another' god. He must be, as John 1:1 says - God Jehovah. Jehovah also says that there is no other savior but Him. Yet, Scripture calls Jesus are savior. How do you reconcile the two? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

3 | Revealing error is persecution? :-) | Matt 11:11 | weaslette01 | 123279
Hello Tim. My name is Stephanie. I am not exactly sure what the original question or conversation was, but I have recently joined this forum and have some scripture to reply to your message. John chapter 1:1-18. It says that Jesus is God - only in the flesh (1:9-11; 1:14) So if God and Jesus are one in the same, by serving Jesus you serve God and vise versa. You are still not serving two gods. In John 14:6 Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jesus is the only way, no other gods can get a person to heaven. Not Buddah, the Muslim god, or any other god. God sent His son Jesus to become the sacrificial lamb so that in our sin (Isaiah 59:2-3) we could become holy and someday join our Father in Heaven (Romans 6:23). Idolatry is another issue. If there is something in a person's life that they hold higher than God or worship/praise instead of God, then it becomes idolatry. Ezekiel 14:3-5; 1 Corinthians 10:13-15; Colossians 3:5-6 I hope this has helped! Please look up the scripture to more fully understand my explanation! Your Sister in Christ, Stephanie |

Greetings Stephanie! Welcome to the forum and thanks for the response. My original question had to do with the false teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses. They claim that Jesus is not God, but a lesser god. I was trying to get Ralph2 to examine Is. 43:10 and respond to it's message - that there is only ONE God, not many.
