Bible Question:
Greetings Ralph2! If your group is teaching error and someone points that out in a loving manner, then that cannot be called 'persecution'! :-) One way to beginning addressing the error is to respond to my questions. Jehovah Himself said that there are 'no' other gods but Him. Therefore, Jesus cannot be 'another' god. He must be, as John 1:1 says - God Jehovah. Jehovah also says that there is no other savior but Him. Yet, Scripture calls Jesus are savior. How do you reconcile the two? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
Bible Answer: Hello Tim. My name is Stephanie. I am not exactly sure what the original question or conversation was, but I have recently joined this forum and have some scripture to reply to your message. John chapter 1:1-18. It says that Jesus is God - only in the flesh (1:9-11; 1:14) So if God and Jesus are one in the same, by serving Jesus you serve God and vise versa. You are still not serving two gods. In John 14:6 Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jesus is the only way, no other gods can get a person to heaven. Not Buddah, the Muslim god, or any other god. God sent His son Jesus to become the sacrificial lamb so that in our sin (Isaiah 59:2-3) we could become holy and someday join our Father in Heaven (Romans 6:23). Idolatry is another issue. If there is something in a person's life that they hold higher than God or worship/praise instead of God, then it becomes idolatry. Ezekiel 14:3-5; 1 Corinthians 10:13-15; Colossians 3:5-6 I hope this has helped! Please look up the scripture to more fully understand my explanation! Your Sister in Christ, Stephanie |
