1 | Should Christians practice nonresistance | Lev 26:6 | Morant61 | 16070
Greetings Sir! Like you and Nolan, I too an a Star Trek fan! :-) I understand where you are going from about the death penalty, but I am curious as to how you justify it from Scripture. My perspective on it follows the following logic: 1) The death penalty was commanded in the OT by God, therefore it could not be immoral. 2) There is not any place in the NT where the death penalty is forbidden. 3) Therefore, the death penalty for today is neither forbidden nor immoral. What Scripture would you use to defend the position that the system has now changed? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | Should Christians practice nonresistance | Lev 26:6 | Sir Pent | 16076
Dear Tim, Since Nolan (who started this post) has tried to wrap it up, and since the original intent of this post was to discuss "nonresistance" (mainly along the lines of war as opposed to the death penalty), I would recommend that we start a seperate thread to discuss this topic further. Would that be alright? |
