1 | From where is the KIngdom Lydia? | Dan 2:31 | Aspilos | 60356
Ateo, you wish to think that the fourth empire is that of the Greek's because, as you stated, "Daniel 2:41 claims that the empire will be divided" but in chapter 7 the four empires are again mentioned, but this time as beasts. Note the description of the third one. Dan. 7:6 NIV "After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule. As you stated, "His empire [Alexander the Great] was then divided up among his 4 generals." Four seems to be the description of the third beast. The heads representing rulers of authority and the wings for the swiftness in which the conquered. Surely the writer wouldn't have written something to contradact himself only a few chapters later. Don't forget also that Rome was divided. Note the fourth beast in Dan. 7. Bendiciones! Aspilos |

2 | From where is the KIngdom Lydia? | Dan 2:31 | ateo | 60499
Aspilos, At your request I noted the 4th beast in Daniel 7. What follows is my opinion of it. The 1st beast is unquestionably Babylon. The 2nd is Persia. The 3 ribs represent the 3 empires swallowed up into the Persian empire, namely, Babylon, Lydia, and Media. The 3rd is Greece. The 4 heads are the 4 kingdoms into which Alexander's empire was divided. The last beast is the Seleucid kingdom. The 10 horns represent the 10 Seleucid kings which followed. They were Seleucis I, Antiochus I, Antiochus II, Seleucis II, Seleucis III, Antiochus III, Seleucis IV, and 3 that were subdued by the little horn. The little horn was Antiochus IV. ateo |

3 | From where is the KIngdom Lydia? | Dan 2:31 | EdB | 60559
Ateo I noticed in this response to Aspilos on Dan 7:7 you have concluded the fourth beast to be the Seleucid kingdom that rose after Alexander’s death. However that empire never took the description on that you want to give it. It wasn’t iron like and dreadful, terrifying and extremely strong. Plus if you will go over to Dan 8:22 you will see the four generals are discussed and here they are portrayed as never attaining the power of Alexander. Alexander and his four generals are talked about in Dan 7:7, but there arose in verse 8 another beast that could only be Rome, dreadful, terrifying, and extremely strong that trampled down the remainder (what was left of Alexander’s empire) with it feet. This has to be when Rome swept through the Grecian Empire including the middle East and the defeat of Ptolemyies in Egypt (you surely remember Mark Anthony and Cleopatra) EdB |
