1 | Who is the beloved? | Song 2:7 | Searcher56 | 75236
This is for our teaching, reproof, correction, training in righteousnessis ... while some believe this is an allegory between God-Israel or Christ-church, I do not. I do not believe we will ever be that intimate with Christ ... first, because we are not married to Him, yet ... and when we are, I do not see this fitting in. As I read the NT, I do not see this kind of language or intimacy. Do you? Israel was never this close with God, unless you see somethinhg I do not. Searcher |

2 | Who is the beloved? | Song 2:7 | Mommapbs | 75278
Greetings again Searcher, I believe that we would be wise to not let our physical understanding of intimacy rule in our appreciation for this passage. Call me a hopeful romantic! But I believe that God gave us marriage, families and the intimacy of relationship to give us a hint of what He longs to have with us. Perhaps the nation of Israel was never this close, but I believe that the expression of love in the Song of Solomon expresses the desire that God has for HIS beloved! (And I suspect that that's you and me too!) Blessings, mommapbs |
