1 | Could cain do well? | Gen 4:7 | sniper | 79489
If I understand your question, Cain could have done well. Man has freewill and makes his choice as to whether he will seek and serve God. Cain knew the right thing to do, but he did not want to serve God in the way that God had prescribed. When God was not pleased, Cain's pride was injured and he killed his brother. Cain could have offered the proper sacrifice, but he wanted to do things his way.

How could God not be pleased. If Cain does bad doesn't that give God a chance to show his power? Each man is molded by the Potter. The questions are rhetorical because Cain only did what he was made to do. God is the one and only Sovereign. I hope that you will see the error of this and thank you for trying.

You ask: "If Cain does bad doesn't that give God a chance to show his power?" Romans 6:1-2a (ESV) What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! You write: "Cain only did what he was made to do." NASB James 1:13-14 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. AMPLIFIED James 1:13-14 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one. But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). |

God does not sin and does not tempt. Only good comes from God. But each man is clay in His hand. But God hated Esau who did nothing wrong. And God propped up the Egyptian Pharaoh and hardened his heart. Pharaoh 'had' to do evil. He didn't have a 'choice' because that way people see the power of God and glorify Him. Doesn't his Sovereignty mean that He has all power? "the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords"-1Tim.6:15 I have so many people to answer. I don't know why. Calvinism is absolute truth. |

Greetings Inhisname! Ok, I'll bite! :-) Where in the Bible does it say, "Calvinism is absolute truth!"? I've read it all, and I don't recall that verse! ;-) Calvinism and Arminianism are two terms which describe two different theological interpretation of the evidence of Scripture. Both have strengths and both have weaknesses. But, I would not describe either one as 'absolute truth'. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
