1 | Greek Dictionary with 22,000 words? | Gen 1:5 | Morant61 | 216045
Greetings Justme! I am not sure exactly how many words are in the Greek language. I know that Strong's only lists about 5600 words in his classic concordance. However, the New Testament does not use anywhere near the number of words available in classic Greek. If you want a great lexicon, get the "Greek-english lexicon of the new testament and other early christian literature". Google it and you can find it on Amazon, among other places. I warn you though, it is expensive. :-( Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | Greek Dictionary with 22,000 words? | Gen 1:5 | justme | 216103
Tim:-) After reading your note, I have a question. But first let me explain. While in Seminary the school book store had a close out sale. I saw a ten volume set called THEOLOGICAL DICTIONARY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT by Ronald E Pitkin, Eerdmans Publishing Company printed edition 1983. After graduating, some years later I briefly looked it over. I thought it was way over my head, and put it on a bottom shelf in our library. However after reading your note I took out volume ten and I think I just might be able to learn how to use this set. They are brand new, never used. Would this be sorta what you ment to get? I do not remember what I paid for the set but I do know it was as I recall a good amount of money. If this is not what you ment could you be a little more specific? Thanks Tim. Blessings. justme |

Greetings Justme! That set is commonly referred to as Kittel's. It is the granddaddy of Greek dictionaries. :-) I was fortunate that when my father in law retired from the ministry, he gave me his set. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Tim :-) Wow. I am sure the Cokesbury manager at Central Baptist Theological Seminary did me a favor. I was, and still am, always looking for a huge bargin in the Christian book stores. Now all I have to do is understand how the set is used. I think I can eventually use them. It's nice to know I have something that is of value and can grow into. I am blessed in so many ways. The Lord is so good. Blessings Tim. justme |
