Bible Question:
Doc: I am not aware of how many Greek words their are. In fact I have no idea how many English words there are either. Is there Greek Dictionary that has that many (22,000) words in it? If there is such a Dictionary what would I look to order such a book? I am certian I do not have 28 years left to live, but I would really enjoy such a Dictionary. Thank you for your assistance. Bible Answer: Greetings Justme! I am not sure exactly how many words are in the Greek language. I know that Strong's only lists about 5600 words in his classic concordance. However, the New Testament does not use anywhere near the number of words available in classic Greek. If you want a great lexicon, get the "Greek-english lexicon of the new testament and other early christian literature". Google it and you can find it on Amazon, among other places. I warn you though, it is expensive. :-( Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
