1 | Alleged changes in the NKJV | Ps 4:1 | Morant61 | 124038
Greetings Bruce7! I would be shocked that anyone would actually believe this material. :-) I searched for the text of the pamplet, but they insist that I purchase one. So, why don't you take a couple of the really amazing points from the pamplet and share with us why you believe modern translations are not as reliable as the KJV? Then, we can discuss them. 3 | Alleged changes in the NKJV | Ps 4:1 | Morant61 | 124045
Greetings Bruce! This is a good example of why you need to provide examples my friend. The logic behind the alleged 'deletions' could be faulty. Allow me to illustrate. 1) The KJV was not the original Bible. The original manuscripts were written in Hebrew and Greek. 2) These original manuscripts were then copied and re-copied many times. It is not believed that we have any of the original manuscripts at all. Not all of the copies are accurate. 3) Bible translators (including the KJV) have to look at the copies and then make decisions based upon the manuscripts that they actually have before them. The KJV (while an excellent translation) only have a small handful of manuscripts from which to work. 4) So, did the NKJV actually delete a word that was supposed to be in the Bible or did the KJV add a word that was not supposed to be in the Bible. We would have to look at specific examples and then base our decision upon the manuscript evidence. Unfortunately, most of these sites are full of King James only theorists who have little idea how we actually get a Bible translation to begin with. The result is a conspiracy theory attack on every translation other than the KJV - that simply cannot be supported by the facts. If you want to discuss some specific examples, I would be happy to do so. Otherwise, I would suggest you find a good book on how a Bible translation is actually produced so that you can discover for yourself what the stengths and weaknesses of the various translations are.
