1 | I won"t be saved if I don't tithe | 2 Corinthians | Hank | 63616
Johnny, that is a heart-warming story and thanks for sharing it with the forum. Now I will write a "Tale of Two Churches" for in it I believe lie hints and clues that teach a valuable lesson to all churches. This "tale" by the way is perfectly true. In my city stand Church A and Church B. Church A hardly ever mentions money, asks no one to sign a pledge card, stages no money-raising campaigns, no every-member canvass to raise funds, pressures no one to give. Church B stages every-member canvasses, asks its members to sign pledge cards, revisits some of them to ask them to raise their pledges, routinely stresses budget needs from the pulpit, and even hires outside professional fund raisers during "pledge month" every year. Church A has no problem whatever meeting its own internal monetary needs and has a very large surplus which it uses for radio and TV ministries, supports two local on-campus missions, one for the local Asian community and the other for the Hispanic community, and in addition contributes heavily to both North American and world missions. Church B has great difficulty meeting the essentials of its own internal financial needs and virtually nothing to spare for any outreach missions. Church A preaches and teaches God's word. Church B is more oriented toward social issues and secular humanism. Church A is growing and prospering, and many are being led to Christ. Church B is struggling to keep its doors open...... So I ask, is the problem financial or is it spiritual? Is the real solution to churches' financial problems always to be found in finding ways to raise more money, or could it be a deep-seated spiritual problem that cannot be cured by all the money in the world? Does not it apply to churches as well as individuals to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added? [See Matt. 6:33] --Hank
2 | I won"t be saved if I don't tithe | 2 Corinthians | jlpangilinan | 63622
Hank, Good to hear you again my friend, Before I was a tithe giver, I was a member of certain church, (i dont want to metioned it here) the tught us that tithes is a requirements, and I as a first member in my family in that church, convinve my parents to give tithes 10 percent in what we have. We practice that for years and we have no problem with that. As a matter of fact I tried to depend that before that as a son of God I should tithe. Until i found this ministries I am in now, I am really amazed why this certain man always taught to his members that tithes is not a requirements but love offering. He is the one really find the resources to support the church. We are witness of how many properties he sold in order to build the National Convention that I mentioned to EdB. How many properties he sold in order to feed our unfortunate members, shouldering the burden on how to by medicine and other supplies for our free hospital. Inspite of those burden he discourage the tithes because it is not a teaching of Christ but love offering. He always taught to our members being a pastor is not a job for a living but a service to God and his people like paul that supported himself as a tent maker and did not make himself as any burden to his members. I always listen to him how to discourage tihes for the Christians. What I do now if somebody tell me that tithes is a requirements. Thanks for your note. God bless, Johnny |

Johnny, reciprocal wishes to you for God's good blessings God has blessed me in a thousand ways in my 67 years, not the least of which was in providing me with a fine father. My dad, after he retired, designed and built with his own hands, along with the help of a few Christian brothers, a good-sized church. That building, so far as I know, still stands today a few yards away from the town square in Trenton, Georgia. My father refused to accept a penny for his work. --Hank
