2 | when do I spake in tounges | Acts | Grace and Truth | 49102
We are to let the WORD OF GOD guide us, We worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Remember What Jesus said, That an evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign....Matt12:38-45 Be real to yourself, you know and I know that there's not a man alive that can raise the dead, or cause the blind to see, or restore an arm or leg. These are real miracles in the bible, this is what God allowed the first centry church to do. I notest that the only gift that is desired most is to speak with tounges, why not desire to raise the dead, or restore sight to the blind. Can you through the spirit speak Japanese, Greek, never having studied these languages? I don't think so. Just learn how to be a child of God, and leave the gifts where they are in the first centry. |

3 | when do I spake in tounges | Acts | Parable | 49106
In Mt 12:39, Jesus was rebuking the people for asking for proof on demand, which is contrary to faith. The only sign to be given was Jonah in the whale, which of course is a foreshadow of Christ in the tomb. This sign is fundamentally different from that requested of Him in that it demonstrated God's triumph over death, not Jesus ability to do wonderous deeds, which are subject to counterfeiting. Resurrection is totally in God's domain. James also speaks to this unbelief and the possible selfish perversion of God's blessings. "You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures." -- James 4:2-3 Finally, the acts you list are miracles, so by definition, I don't expect to see them very often. They are special, delivered to glorify God in a unique way. Miracles are different from the spiritual gifts that are bestowed upon believers for the daily, routine work to be done in the Lord's service. Such gifts are the fruit of faith, not the reason for it and are given that we can do the unique work God calls us to do. Finally, in regard to the gifts, Paul says "For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function..."-- Rom 12:4 and "Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly..." -- Rom 12:6 Parable |

Are you listening to what Paul is saying? All that a child of God does should edify another, if you know someone is sick, and you visit them with songs, prayer, and incouragement from the Word of God, that may be your gift! I don't think you would try to heal them, because you're not a doctor are you? We will always have people in need of some kind of help, mental or phyical God gave us professionals, hospitals, etc. to help with the things we can't do ourselves. But in the church our gifts are the fruit of the Spirit found in Gal5:22,23; 2Peter1:5-10 This is how God's Spirit works in our lives! Not speaking in unkown tounges and things like that.
