Consider Romans 8:3: "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:" We are reconciled to God through the Blood of Jesus. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, ever interceding for us, because God cannot look upon sin. That is why Jesus said on the cross, "And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Hi Janae, Again I ask you what verse you have in mind when you say "because God cannot look upon sin". 1) Romans 8:3, "For the law of the (Spirit)--of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did:" Genesis 1:26, "Then (God) said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;" 2) Romans 8:3, "...sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as an offering for sin,..." Genesis 1:27, "And God created man in His own image,..." 3) Genesis 1:27, "...in the image of God/..." Romans 8:3, "...He/ condemned sin in the flesh." contrast Philippians 2:6, NKJ, "who, being in the form of God/, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men."
