1 | (still) God created evil? | Genesis | charis | 962
I get it, melchizedekau. You are saying that God created an adversary for His plan. This same logic would be the same as a video game maker creating a good guy and a bad guy in order to have an interesting product. God made evil that we may escape it. If I create wealth, then I am responsible for the greed another may have toward that wealth. This is a twisted form of logic I am not familiar with. So, there is no good thing in us? In the same manner, there is no evil in us either. After all, God put it there, right? Flip Wilson would be very upset! Instead of, "The Devil made me do it!" it would be, "God made me do it!" After all, your logic states that God created evil, predestining me to perform it. Hung up on the word 'all' as meaning all sin, past, present and future, making our Lord the author of all evil is different than any doctrine I have ever heard. I have seen more evidence in the Bible that says there is no darkness (evil) in Jesus at 'all' than to the contrary. I can see that you are comfortable in your opinion, so enjoy it. In Christ Jesus, the Light of the world.

P.S. Also, thanks for clarifying for me the meaning of the original question, "Why did God put us on earth with satin?" I thought it was because neither silk nor velvet had yet been invented at that time.

You people are crazy ;-) I must say that this entire conversation (complete with the computer analogy, I mean that was TRULY on point, charis....do I have your permission to use that in Bible study? Hehehe) has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience for me, and it's really great to see Christians delighting together in God's word. Praise the Lord!! It's times like these that remind me that we should all be one under Christ, that we should be learning His word with an open mind, and that Satin (whoops) Satan's subsequent (and unsuccessful) attempts to destroy us will only succeed in making us all stronger. In the end, Satan will be proven to be as strong as satin against the breath of God. Which is to say, not at all. |

By all means, but only after I extract my tongue from my cheek! K, this is a great forum! Indeed, if we get too serious and rigid, cracks form that our sly enemy could use to drive his wedge between us. Let us continue to be strong, but alive and resilient, to resist his insidious attacks. Re: the 'other' affair, you didn't miss the boat. A semi-repentance took place :-) In Christ Jesus. |
