Greetings Kalos! There is a question that I have always wondered about concerning election. If MacArthur's definition of election is correct (and election is a choice made by God in eternity past), how does one explain Romans 11? Allow me to explain. Romans 11:7 describes two groups of people, the elect and those who were hardened. So far, this would make perfect sense in light of MacArthur's definition of election. However, v. 11ff begins again to speak of those who were hardened and holds out the possiblity that they could be saved and grafted into the elect body again. If election is only a choice made in eternity by God, how could someone be not 'elect' and then later become grafted in? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Tim: Good question! In all honesty, I don't know the answer. I'll have to think about it and research it. Thanks for keeping me on my toes. Grace to you, Kalos |
