1 | Does James 2 contradict Romans 4? | James 2:24 | Rowdy | 112350
Thanks, I didn't know that. I had thought most of my christian life Martin Luther died with the idea christians could go to Heaven on faith alone. It's good to know he truly was a student of the Bible. I guess we've all got some studying to do for our final exam. Thanks again and God bless.
2 | Does James 2 contradict Romans 4? | James 2:24 | EdB | 112354
Rowdy There are many things the reformers backed away from or embraced that aren't readily known, because they don't serve the desires of those that think they know the answers. I love this new quote I found today. "The most learned, acute and diligent student cannot, in the longest life, obtain an entire knowledge of this one volume. The more deeply he works the mine, the richer and more abundant he finds the ore; new light continually beams from this source of heavenly knowledge, to direct the conduct and illustrate the work of God and the ways of men; and he will at last leave the world confessing that the more he studied the Scriptures, the fuller conviction he had of his own ignorance and of their inestimable value." Sir Walter Scott I'm particularily taken with the last part because it is so very true!! EdB |

3 | Does James 2 contradict Romans 4? | James 2:24 | CDBJ | 112356
Hi EdB, That falls in line with, Hebrews 4:12 (A) For the word of God is living and active. I find it interesting that the less a person knows about something the longer it takes them to try and explain how it works. When the subject it totally known they can describe is very quickly and it’s either take it or leave it. Example. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God speaks and it happens and it’s just the way he wants it. The oldest thing on this planet is gravity yet man still doesn’t understand all there is to know about it. CDBJ |

CDBJ Wow I must be an idiot, some times it takes me forever to get my point across to some people. But yes your are correct. If we really know our subject we usually can put the idea into exact brief thoughts. EdB |
