I think we've gone far afield of my original question, here. To make sure I understand you correctly, are you saying Col 1:24 would not apply to all sufferings we experience? I believe we've come to that consensus with this thread -- now I'm just trying to define the kinds that WOULD apply, by using examples. --Cheryl |

Greetings Cheryl, I just jumped into this thread and haven't had time to read every post. Wonder if you have considered 1 Peter 5:1-11 yet? I think that regardless of what KINDS of sufferings we experience, this passage is comforting. v 10 "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace (Who imparts all blessing and favor), Who has called you to His (own) eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you."
