1 | Are Christmas and Easter pagan? | Gal 4:10 | Jude | 27033
If present day Christmas and Easter have their roots in paganism, why do we as followers of Christ celebrate these holidays? Aren't we in idolatry?
2 | Are Christmas and Easter pagan? | Gal 4:10 | glenda | 27050
I believe people celebrate christmas being pagan because it is a tradition. Not because it is christ birthday. Why do christian celebrate it knowing it is pagan ? they don't want to be riducled because they don't celebrate it. It seems to be hard for christians to stand up for what is right. Seems like the devils crowed has more guts in this area than christians. How far could we get in some of the persecutions of the bible days?
3 | Are Christmas and Easter pagan? | Gal 4:10 | EdB | 27062
Glenda If celebrating Christmas is puts you under conviction then you should not do it. I celebrate Christmas because it is a time for the world to have Jesus proclaimed before them. As far as Easter I celebrate it as a day of remembrance, a day when all the world saw the might and power of God first hand, up close and personal if you will. By the way if I thought for a moment I should not celebrate Christmas I would not and I kind of resent you implication that I gave into the world. For me and all the other Christians that celebrate these holidays for the right reasons I hope that wasn’t what you were really inplying. As far as persecution there are more people dying for Jesus right now then died in all of the early church. Christians are being killed by the thousands in the Sudan and Indonesia. Go to the voice of the martyr website "persecution.com" and see for yourself. |

4 | How should we celebrate real Christmas? | Gal 4:10 | Julius | 27171

5 | How should we celebrate real Christmas? | Gal 4:10 | Makarios | 27189
Greetings Julius! "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship." Romans 12:1 Julius, I believe that if we do this everyday (Matthew 16:24) then we can celebrate His coming not on just one special day like Christmas, but everyday! In that way, Christmas is no different than any other day, since we must live for Him on Christmas as well. And in this way, our "gift" of ourselves is every bit as good as any gift that the wise men could have brought. Blessings to you, Nolan |
