1 | Are Christmas and Easter pagan? | Gal 4:10 | Jude | 27033
If present day Christmas and Easter have their roots in paganism, why do we as followers of Christ celebrate these holidays? Aren't we in idolatry?
2 | Are Christmas and Easter pagan? | Gal 4:10 | EdB | 27043
In answer to your question, yes they may have Pagan origins as far as the dates, however the meaning is strictly Christian and should be considered Christian Holidays. An analogy of this would be a gun used in the murder that is later melted down and the metal used to make a heart and lung machine. Could we say the heart lung machine was made out of a murder weapon? Yes, but does it make the heart and lung machine bad? No! The meaning of Christmas for true Christians is clearly a day set aside to honor the birth of our savior. Or I have seen it put the day our Lord laid down the glory of heaven and stepped from the womb of a virgin to dwell amongst man. The meaning of Easter is even more significant it is a day set aside to honor the fact Christ did exactly as He said He would, He arose and proved once and for all His power and His might and most of all His word. If the days are remembered for their meaning in relation to Christ who cares they happen to fall on days that once were pagan holidays. EdB |

easter is not the word God gave it was and is passover,so who changed it. Not God, He said it would a passover for ever. Only satan what's to get God's word out of our mouth, and replace it whit his, because he realize how powerful God's words are in His childern mouth.
5 | Are Christmas and Easter pagan? | Gal 4:10 | EdB | 56094
Redboy Actually the day we call Easter is usually several days after passover. Passover is when the passover Lamb died and his blood preserved the children of Israel from death. Our Savior died that day and his blood protects us from death. However our Savior also rose from the grave and that we also celebrate it is known as Easter. The day set aside to celebrate Christ's resurrection from the grave. Where is the problem? The name, how about we call it resurrection Sunday instead? In fact that is exactly what we do in the church I attend. EdB |
