1 | The possible hindrance agsinst being use | 2 Cor 8:12 | EddieB. | 194353 | ||
Hi. I saw your question, and I am not an expert, but if you go by Saul's standard of being used by God, it can be a bit misleading. God loves us, I believe, unconditionally, not because we are lovely, but because He IS love, and because of what He did through Jesus. So IMO, God will use you as much as you want to be used, and as much as you believe he wants to use you. I believe we are only under the New Covenant restrictions of the NT and loving God and loving each other is the most important thing.after all , without love we are nothing. God can use you every day , all day in ways you can't imagine, to encourage and inspire people. Just ask Him and He will show you. He gave us all individual and unique talents and gifts that he wants to use to help others, so whether God uses you , is not dependent upon how good you have been, but asking God to make you usable, and then asking for opportunities for Him to use you, and asking for His help in recognizing those opportunities. None lives to himself and we are all here to help each other. But of course, we must be willing to be used, and that is a great start! |

Hello EddieB, Welcome to the Forum. Based on your answer- "But of course, we must be willing to be used, and that is a great start" , are you saying that we can somehow limit God? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hello EddieB, My question had to do with the closing statement you made in response to Endie: "But of course, we must be willing to be used, and that is a great start!" Possibly you could better explain what YOU meant by that? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

First of all, "being used of God" in the instance I am referring to is in a general sense, and not meant to imply that would be limiting God. The topic of limiting God would be an entirely different subject, and would take some time to touch all of the aspects of it. Since the original question that was asked did not give specific reference as to how exactly being used of God is implied here, I am limited in how to answer that. There are quite a few various example I could give, but it seemed like the original question was not intended to be so detailed, but a more general nature. I hope you understand what I mean when I say it is difficult to give a specific answer to a general question. |

If it helps any to clarify...I can rephrase what I said, and say that an unwillingness on any Christian's part may be a roadblock in their service for God, and can limit how God moves in their life. and I would quote Hebrews 11:6 for that one: Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]. I hope that is clearer as to what I meant. |
