1 | Joe, baptism required for Lord's Supper? | 1 Cor 11:27 | John Reformed | 63098
Hello Tim, Should a christian, who was deliberately refusing to obey the command to be baptised, be considered as unworthy of the Lords table? Jesus said that if we love Him we should keep His commandments. What do you think? John |

2 | Joe, baptism required for Lord's Supper? | 1 Cor 11:27 | Morant61 | 63106
Greetings John! No, because the adverb only modifies the manner of eating or drinking, not the quality of the person. That was the point I was agreeing with BradK about. The passage doesn't say, "Unworthy people must not eat or drink". It does say, "one must not eat or drink in an unworthy manner". Hence, it is the way in which the Lord's Supper is being partaken that is the issue of this passage, not who can partake of it. I hope that helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Tim, if you want read my first post. I concluded, based on the context, being unworthy is having a devisive issue (here it looks like the haves and have nots), being a glutton, impatient and prideful. We we take those actions, we are unworthy. Searcher |
