His wife left him for another man and the divorce isn't final yet? Something sounds funny here unless you're in a state w/waiting periods. I'd say wait for divorce to be final, then there is no qualms then. He is justified in getting a divorce if she committed adultery but wait for the divorce!!!
3 | What if both committed adultery? | Matt 5:32 | Searcher56 | 12004
What if he committed adultery, too? This happens in many cases. I would not use the word free (1Co 7:15 - not under bondage (douloo)), but permitted (epitrepo) (Mat 19:8). Steve |

4 | What if both committed adultery? | Matt 5:32 | Makarios | 12023
If both people had committed adultery, then they need to repent and renounce their sin to begin the road towards reconcilation to each other. If one partner is not willing to reconcile, then God will deal with them and the consequences of their actions. I, for one, know full well the consequences of divorce in a family, and it should be avoided at all costs. Nolan |

You are right. It has happened in my family. People want it their way and will find some pastor who will support it. I did get in the pastor's face and told him he was in violation of several Bible passages. He didn't like it. I know some of my answers, even questions, here aren't always liked. But, I believe I am using the Bible correctly. I do not always like what the Bible says. But, it is not the Word of God that needs to be changed to meet what our need's or the culture's. Tis 908 and all is well God's night to you all Steve |
