1 | Can prayer change perfect will of God? | Ps 115:3 | Val | 195054
Reading the whole chapter you see that He had commanded them not to make or worship idols. If you look on down in the chapter you see that 3,000 were destroyed. Sometimes it is better to look at the whole picture instead of getting stumped on one verse. The lesson we can take from this incident is that God takes sin very seriously. I hope this helps.
2 | Can prayer change perfect will of God? | Ps 115:3 | skccab | 195060
Hey Val, Shalom I'm not "picking" on you, your's is just the end of the thread so I'm posting to here :-) (In fact, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading what you have written before, very enlightening!) The problem I'm having is that it sounds like at the beginning, He was wanting to destroy the whole lot of them and re-make a nation of Moses, but Moses interceded for the whole lot of them and God relented of His anger against the nation, and did not destroy all of them. I'm not arguing the point of God's sovereignty, not at all, I'm just trying to understand those passages (and the ones of Abraham and Lot) in the light of the previous posts. That's all. Cheri |

3 | Can prayer change perfect will of God? | Ps 115:3 | Val | 195074
In the context that is what it says. In saying that I have not studied the book of Exodus precept upon precept so I am not prepared to discuss it. I have studied Genesis - what chapter were you talking about regarding Abraham and Lot. I would like to look at it. Is Shalom hello?
4 | Can prayer change perfect will of God? | Ps 115:3 | skccab | 195077
Val Shalom After yours and many others help yesterday, I finally "got it" about intercessory prayer. Thank you for your efforts. The Abrahan and Lot episode in question begins at Gen. 18:16 to the end of the chapter. Shalom is Hebrew for "peace" and is also used as a welcoming "hello" and a promised "see ya later." :-) Cheri |

Shalom Gye! Thank you, I'll read the Luke verses at work tonight, only have 30mins to dress and leave right now. It finally all came together for me in the middle of last night while y'all were all snug in your beds lol. (Well, not ALL of course, but what was confusing me cleared up!) God bless you, Gye, and all of God's SBF'ers for the much needed help. Cheri |
