Greetings Free Thinker. Here at the Forum, most participants agree that the Bible is the Truth, the revealed Word of God and the ultimate authority for our lives, today and for the future. Since you approach the Bible with open skepticism, I recommend, "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell as a good place to begin your search for the truth. He, like you, described himself as an athesist - but his mission was to disprove the claims of the Bible and Jesus. In the end, The question that Jesus asked one of His closest disciples will be asked of you: "Who do YOU say I am?" (Mt 16:15) BTW - See Gen 6:20 - the animals came to Noah; he didn't have to go out and round them up! Noah listened to God's directions and took the required number into the ark. . . I've always wondered how many more came out of the ark?! Also, thanks for your honesty - I'm sure that I speak for many here who pray that you find what you are truly searching for. John 8:31-32 God uses real life events to help us understand Him. This passage in John 8 suggests, (to me) that God allowed slavery to exist so that we would recognize our spiritual status and desire the freedom that He alone can give. mommapbs |

Thank you mommapbs! I will read ""Evidence That Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell " and then I will post again to let you know what I think. Until I do read the book, I will make no more post. My objective here is to find answers for myself, not to create doubt or questions in anyone else's mind. Thank you for your help! |
