1 | How does God speak to us? | Gen 1:1 | Darktanianxx | 22079
When we are born again [have the indwelling of God's Spirit], we are now able to understand the heart and mind of God thru the knowledge of the son of God. When we know and understand God, we automatically know his will. In other words we know not to kill. Not that there needs to be a written law by God that says dont kill, but that we feel inside of us that that is wrong. It is God's Spirit dealing with our spirit, telling us that it is wrong. We can feel it without ever seeing it written as a law. That feeling is called grace. In the same way, God gives us curtain desires to do his will. For example, if your at church and something is going to take place,[an event],and it requires someone to cook a huge meal for the congregation, and you feel inside a desire to be the one to do it, then that is the holy Spirit prompting your spirit to do it.Simply put, grace is God's Spirit giving you the desires to do His will. It is up to you to learn about the heart of Jesus so that you can grow strong in understanding what His will is! God will always speak to you in accordance to His will. I hope this gives you a better understanding. Read 1Corinthians 2:5 thru 16
2 | How does God speak to us? | Gen 1:1 | kalos | 58339
'How do we know when God is speaking?' (Re-post.) 'By listening to what he says in His word! We learn what the truth of God is in exactly the same way the Bereans did, by searching the Scriptures (Acts 17:11). God speaks to us by His Son (Heb. 1:2) and His Son speaks to us in the Scriptures which testify of Him (John 5:39) We do not need a crystal ball or extra-biblical revelation to be able to discern between God's will and ours. The Scriptures clearly reveal God's will and plan for our lives. There is a prevalent and dangerous wind of doctrine blowing across many churches today that Scripture alone is insufficient. The heresy is being spread that we need something more -- anointing, special revelation, tongue speaking and who knows what else -- to give us a spiritual lift and jolt to make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. There is the insinuation being made that a believer who doesn't babble in a tongue or get himself "anointed" (whatever that means) is at best only a second-class Christian or at worst no Christian at all. This is raw and unwashed nonsense. We are in deep trouble indeed when we reach the point at which we think the word of God is insufficient. --Hank' (ID# 29260) |
