Subject: Ecumenical Movement Avoid or Not? |
Bible Note: I think there are three groups talked about here. Believers, Non Believers and Believers that because they were taught by particular Apostle think they are better than the others. Jesus prayed for unity for Believers. Jesus also knows believers would never find unity in this world. Luke 12:51 passage you mentioned. Jesus was concerned of the very thing Paul ran into where one group instead of be followers of Christ were followers of Apollo and other followers of Paul 1 Corinthians 1:12-13 (NKJV) 12 Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." 13 Is Christ divided? ... Dividing the Body of Christ is the problem not trying to find unity with unbelievers or not true Christians. What we have to do is sit down and talk to understand the other. We all have ideas, perceptions, war stories, second hand info, and in some case real hurts. We need fact which only comes from honest dialogue. Discussion and talk brings understanding, compassion and mercy. |
