Subject: Ecumenical Movement Avoid or Not? |
Bible Note: John 17:21 (NASB) 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. That said I think we have to realize some of our views of the Catholics is almost the same view that many Catholics have of Protestants. For better or for worst the Catholic church protected, preserved and promoted Christianity for 1500 years. Now while we can criticize their doctrine it does little good to stand outside and say they are wrong. The only way error will be corrected is if it is realized. What we need to do it try to establish dialogue so error can be discussed and hopefully corrected. When we stop talking and start pointing nothing is accomplished. I don't know what this so called Ecumenical Movement that this Bishop and others addressed is but responding to it as you are all wrong and destined for hell will not help. |
