Bible Question:
Do you believe in God? If so, then why? Sincere answers only please. |
Bible Answer: I have innately believed in God pretty much my whole life. I was not really taught about God. My struggle in life has been answering the questions: Where is God in my life? How does He fit into my every day life? I have only recently begun to receive the answers to these questions. It required me to read the bible, reflect on it's truths, and apply them to my miserable life. When I was about 14 years old (I'm 41 now) I was at a keg party and got really drunk. It was an awful feeling. I remember sitting in the back of someone's car, praying to God. I begged God to take this awful feeling away. INSTANTLY, I was straight. To me, this was proof. The only way to reverse a physical condition such as this would be for a miracle to happen. God answered my prayer. This time it was instantaneously. Is this the only reason I believe in God? No. I have always been sensitive to His presence in my life. It was many years that I "turned it off" so to speak. I wasn't willing to submit my self to His will. I only wanted my will. As I searched to find the answers to the above two questions, I have found that the more I surrender my will to His will, the more peace and joy I have. It is truly hard to explain. It surpasses all my previous understanding of what was available to me. This peace, is truly a gift from God, through Christ. |
