Subject: Could there be more? |
Bible Note: Hi AIT, I like your example of the grave stone. I told my wife that when I die, she doesn’t even have to bother putting me in the ground, just through me in the back yard, and I will raise enough stink that somebody will bury me. She didn’t think it was funny either! There is an interesting point on your post that I noticed. You mentioned the following and it sure seems like the thing we would all want God to say about us “"With her, I am well pleased." Why would God want to say that about you personally speaking? I have kind of had thoughts along those same lines. I wanted to be the best person I could be and trust God and have Him look favorably on me. Then one day someone showed me the following, in the Bible that I would like to share with you; boy, did this open my eyes! The one that showed me this said that this is how God looks at me, and everyone else. Romans 3:10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; Romans 3:12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one." I told him well I believe in God and I’m doing the best I can do and he continued to show me these verses. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, The question is then how can I be pleasing in God’s sight since I am imperfect? The answer is that I have to get God’s eyes of me and on to something perfect instead of me; i.e. something in my place. Now how do I do that? God says that He will place me in Jesus Christ His Son positionally, if I will completely trust in the work that God did for me on the cross in the person of His Son Jesus. In essence Jesus gets old filthy me and God ascribes to me His perfect righteousness: what a deal!! But I have to have confidence or total undivided faith in Gods Son Jesus, in order for all of this to happen! Paul even mentions this in Romans about his countrymen and I fit the same pattern, how they believe in God and even with zeal but their believing in God wasn’t God’s plan: Jesus is God’s only plan! Romans 10:1-4 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. [2] For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. [3] For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. [4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. It’s kind of strange when we speak about believing in God and trusting in Him. God the Father wants us to use Jesus as the way to Him and eternal life. Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. When I started reading the Bible I was close and on the right track all right but it wasn’t until I finally come to the conclusion of the following that I knew God was right about the life hereafter. That if God were to ask me; Why should I let you come into My Kingdom, I would have say, while face down on my knees? Because of my precious Saviour Jesus, He paid my price and opened the way for me and I completely trust in what he did for me on the cross, that what he did was sufficient for me to get into heaven. I could say, Father if you weren’t satisfied with what Jesus did for me you wouldn’t have raised Him from the dead but you did and I trust in Him and believe what you promised me and I have Jesus as my own. 1 John 5:10-13 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. [11] And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. [12] He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. [13] These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. And now AIT, you know the rest of my story, CDBJ |
