Bible Note: Hi Samantha, I think we carry the sorrow thing a little far. God isn’t impressed with our sorrow for sin; the only thing that impresses God is what Jesus did for those sins on the cross. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. “He is faithful”, which means he will do it every time. And He is “just to forgive us of our sins” because Jesus paid the price demanded for those sins, not because we feel sorry for them. Everything points to Christ and the quicker we learn that lesson the better off we’ll be!!! Don’t let feeling get in the way of mercy and grace. Have a great day, CDBJ |
