Subject: if you are saved are you always saved? |
Bible Note: Thanks for your reply. Obviously well thought out. Reading the previous posts, it does appear that the way “salvation” is used to include much more than should be included in one word. It could be that there is no one word to encompass such terms and phases as justification, redemption, born again, quicken, eternal life, and etc. That is we have to treat our relationship with God, and out standing in Christ with more than just one word. For when it is said once saved always saved, what all is be considered by the word saved. Do they mean born again, for sure we cannot be unborn physically therefore it being a big just to say that we can be unborn spiritually. Just a thought; below are some observation of the verse that you referenced. Rom 3:19 is talking of justification for sure not sure that it is speaking of salvation. GAL 2:16 is taking of justification for sure also again not sure about salvation. Also is speaks of the faithfulness of Jesus Christ not our faith. 2Cor. 5:18 seems to be talking about reconciliation not salvation. Rom 5:11 again reconciliation or atonement but not salvation. Col 1:20 reconcile or reconciliation again though is blood, not sure that this is taking about salvation Gal 4:5 again redemption; salvation all depends on how large a net you allow the one word to encompass. Col 2:13, 14 being born again, or being made alive but salvation ? Just something to think about. |
