Subject: A thought about the Flood |
Bible Note: Greentwiga You miss my point. No tree ring is dated older than a couple thousand years. Old dry wells are now producing oil. At first it was thought it was merely residual oil had leaked into the pocket and that is what is being pumped. However after further study they are "beginning" to be convinced that in some cases new oil is being produced. And it is doing it in decades of years not 10's of thousands of years like once thought. The point I'm trying to make is science is not fact until it is proven. All scientific evidence we have that points to an old earth is still considered unprovable and thus called theory not fact. The mistake we make is taking the "popular" opinion and make it the only acceptable explanation. In times past popular opinion went with the Bible and many men suffered because they attempted disprove what we now know was bad Biblical interpretation. Today the reverse is true we have moved to the other side. If we say the Bible says we are immediately labeled Bible nuts or have summarily misinterpreted the Bible. The resistance to accept the bible account is so strong that we are not allowing everyone that holds that view serious consideration. Science knows there are errors and contradictions in their theories but rather than trying to find out what is the problem they continue to treat the theory as valid. It is said that no valid evolutionary scientist believes man evolved from a non-human life form. Yet evolution of man from an ooze of muck and mire is still in our textbooks, is still taught in our schools and colleges, still presented to the public as a viable answer to creation of man. EdB |
