Subject: Question for Glory Bound |
Bible Note: Greetings Glory Bound! I have been holding off responding to this thread until I saw where it was going. First of all, I think that part of the problem may be differing definition of 'inspired'. When most of us use 'inspired', we mean something that springs directly from God in such a way that what is produced is without error. No translation fits this definition. I have been involved in translation now for about 15 years and I know that I certainly don't view my translations as being without error. Further, I don't know of any translators who would view their work as 'inspired' in this sense. Is this the sense in which you are using the word my friend? Secondly, I really didn't see that anyone was attacking you by challenging your statement or asking for a clarification. This is one of the joys of a public forum. :-) We make statements and other people see them. Those reading them may agree, disagree, or not understand. In any case, our views will certainly be tested. :-) I certainly pray that we can all ask and respond to questions in a civil manner. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
