Subject: Satan said I will how many times? |
Bible Note: Most lean solely on their knowledge, and that of others. I am not saying this is wrong, but I can't help but to think what scripture says concerning mans wisdom and learning. I agree with you concerning the Living Bible, and your distaste for Zondervan, but if you will note, I have not mentioned a single version, which I consider unworthy. Though at least one person in this forum would have it otherwise, I have no intention of opening such a can of worms concerning this matter. I use the NIV, copywrited 1984. I do not care for Zondervan either, nor their other versions. As stated in my profile, I also use the KJV and Interlinear Hebrew, Greek and English Versions of scripture, along with various other versions, commentaries and such. My soul dependency concerning the Word though, is the Holy Spirit, faith, discernment, adherence to scripture, and other numerous gifts available to those who would just, shut their mouth, and open their heart to them. It is a fact that someone can and will find something wrong with whatever version anyone uses. To those who can see, it is also a fact that, this is another ploy of Satan, and that if, as I have stated previously, one is sincere and adheres to 2 Timothy 2:15, they will develop a spiritual discernment that appears to be non existent with anyone I have thus far discussed this topic with on this forum. Satan knows he can’t add to or take from scripture. He has tried that and failed many times. The multitude of various new “versions” is his latest ploy. Personally, I would recommend that anyone who understands 16th century English proficiently, stick to the KJV. I don’t. When I determined to learn scripture, I didn’t even know that there was anything other than the KJV. I told the Lord, “Surely there is something out there that I can understand better than KJ.” He showed me the NIV right after it was published in its entirety in the 70’s. I have scrutinized the NIV; and in doing so, through comparison to the best and most available of the “translated scrolls,” which I have been able to acquire, found many discrepancies in the KJV. Neither are perfect. Neither are perfect. Neither are perfect. Nor am I, yet. But I am well on my way to perfection, and thank God, I am Glory Bound! Unfortunately, there just aren’t enough originals to go around where scripture is concerned. I have no doubt that our Lord has considered this fact. One has to exercise a thing called faith, in the matter. It is those who doubt that I am concerned with. I would assert that it is those who profess, yet doubt, that should be concerned the most. Such a topic can easily dissuade the babes in Christ. It is apparent that meat of this word chokes many who profess to be more mature. As for those who have a problem in digesting what I say, I would suggest they go back to the milk of scripture. IF, of course, they can find faith enough to believe in whatever version they would choose. As I have stated, I am confident that the Word in which I trust, is inspired. I’d be as miserable as some appear, who wish to argue the matter with me, if I weren’t. God Bless GB |
